Local Attorney Serves on Seminar Panel for DUI Practitioners
A two -day seminar was held in Tampa entitled, “ Blood, Breath & Tears XXV.” It was presented by the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and approved by the Florida Bar. T. Charles “Chuck” Shafer, a local criminal defense attorney, served as a panelist for the segment entitled, “Getting to Know Your Client.”
Attorneys who attended the seminar received 14 hours of continuing legal education credit, which included .5 Ethics hours. Other topics that were discussed included Case Law, Blood Testing, Motions to Suppress, Jury Selection, DMV, SUID, Ethics of DUI and Breath Testing and FDLE.
Shafer’s practice is based in Fort Pierce and concentrates on criminal and DUI representation throughout the Treasure Coast. “Continuing education is important for all attorneys,” stated Shafer. “Valuable information is available to help attorneys in their practice. I enjoyed sharing information with others during our panel discussion.”
T. Charles “Chuck” Shafer has been defending those accused of crimes since 1986. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Law School. He served as an Assistant Public Defender, prior to opening his own practice in 1991. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for the ARC of St. Lucie County, Bluebird Educational Foundation and has been active in Special Olympics and the Exchange Club.
